Causa Cannabis

Recreational-use marijuana sales become legal January 1st onwards in California. While the news brings cheers to many, it also brings along a bundle of worries to some-  law enforcement and traffic safety officials. DUI or Driving Under Influence is not about booze alone, it can be under the influence of any illegal drugs, prescription medication and marijuana. It comes as no surprise that between 2006 to 2015, there has been a 63.1 percent increase in the number of drivers involved in fatal crashes who tested positive for drug impairment. So while the rest of the world are busy welcoming the new year, the law enforcement authorities are busy discussing plans to ensure that the ‘fly-high ’experience does not end as a ‘fly away forever’’.

Cannabis can be cunning – it can lead you to merriment, it can lead you to impairment, if used irresponsibly.
